Arcadiana depends on collaboration and community. You can get involved in a variety of different ways depending on your needs, availability and other commitments.
Arcadiana a the community of postgraduate and early career members of the European Association for Literature, Culture and the Environment (EASLCE). It serves as a communal space for postgraduates and early career researchers in the environmental humanities to get together, collaborate and provide mutual support. It is also home to a blog about the environment in literature and culture hosted by postgraduate editors. The work of the Arcadiana community is built on the enthusiastic commitment of volunteers who contribute to its continuous improvement and lasting impact.
All of the roles we can offer are unpaid. They offer an opportunity for postgraduate researchers to get involved in an established international academic association and gain experience within its various structures.
We recognise that these roles will be taken on alongside research and teaching commitments and that as workload around these main commitments will vary and unexpected circumstances may arise, volunteering roles may have to take a backseat sometimes. At the same time, the workload is flexible and can easily be adapted to different working models and schedules. Before you apply, please make sure that you can find a way to integrate the role into your regular schedule and that you are able to commit to the responsibility connected with it.
Active membership
Arcadiana provides a platform for postgraduate and early career researchers to meet virtually for social events, collaborate on projects, exchange ideas about their research and more.
Our community is constantly growing and we are always looking for new enthusiastic members who would like to actively partake in events and get involved.

We will then add you to our mailing list and you will get updates on events that are being organised and you will be informed when opportunities for further involvement open up.
